I've moved before I was ready more times than I can count, and somehow it keeps working out.
There was the job I wasn't even looking for. I knew I was done where I was, but I hadn't sent out a single application, and then an offer found me anyway, right as I hit the point of I can't do this anymore.
There was the time I left for university with nowhere confirmed to live. No dorms, just a short stay I'd booked while I figured it out. I asked the woman I was renting from if she knew of anywhere good in the area, and she told me I was in luck, a couple had left their lease the day before, six months early, and I could take it over at a discount. Just like that.
There was the night I sat in a train station with my bags at my feet and nowhere to sleep, and by the end of it there was a place, and it was better than anything I'd have planned from home.
The plainest one of all: I'm still here to write this, after a stretch that could have gone the other way.
None of those were things I engineered. I didn't have it figured out. I moved, or I got caught somewhere with no plan, and something met me on the other side every time.
For a long time I thought I had to control all of it. Have the plan airtight, the landing confirmed, every risk closed off before I'd take a step. What I've learned slowly is that some things you cannot arrange from where you're standing. You do your part and you let the rest come. I've become more of a let-go-and-let-God person than I used to be, and the reason is simple. I've watched Him come through too many times to keep pretending I was the one holding it all together.
Here's the lesson: you are allowed to move before you have it all figured out. You keep waiting for certainty, for the guarantee, for every piece to line up before you'll take the step, and the waiting keeps you exactly where you are. I'm not going to tell you everything always works out perfectly, because it doesn't. What I'll tell you is that you have been carried before, more times than you give yourself credit for, and that is reason enough to trust you'll be carried again. Do your part. Take the step while it still scares you. Then let go, and let it work out.
See you next Sunday.
